U.N. Women published its annual report on the application of the recommendations that resulted from the Beijing Platform of Action signed in 1995. The report underlines that there are progresses, with many countries that are putting in place mesures to encourage women's participation in civic life and to protect their rights. U.N. Women continues to work towards a world with gender equality, notably by financing programs lead by local non-profits in the most disadvantaged areas of the world such as Bangladeshi or Sub-Saharan Africa.
