United States: Same-sex marriage legal in all 50 states
The Supreme Court of the United States legalised same-sex marriage in all 50 states.
In the United States, until last week, 37 states, plus the District of Columbia, allowed same-sex marriage, and 13 states had bans due to the federal legislation. However, the higher legislativ institution of the country, the Supreme Court, decided on June 26 to legalise same-sex marriage in the entire country. This step is a major progress for LGBT rights in the USA but also more globally for human rights. Of course this decision was highly celebrated during the GayPride that took place the following days.
