Migrants crisis: Hungary builds a wall

Friday, 19 June 2015

The solution that Hungary found to manage the unprecedent migrant crisis currently happening in Europe is to build a wall

Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, announced that his government was preparing to build a 13-foot-fence along its 109-mile border with Serbia. Hungary is a member of the European Union and also of the Shengen area. The Hungarian government says that large numbers of migrants use the Hungary-Serbia border to enter the European Union, where they may claim asylum or work illegally. Szijjártó also noted that fences already exist at the borders of E.U. member states Greece and Bulgaria that meet Turkey, a non E.U. state. Fences also surround some Spanish enclaves in North Africa. In other words, as no European policy is put in place to manage the enormous number of migrants arriving in Europe, each state members are deciding on individual decisions that do not represent a sustainable solution though.
