A migrant who drowned in the Mediterranean burried in Berlin

Thursday, 18 June 2015

Activists from Center for Political Beauty buried a female Syrian refugee in Berlin on Tuesday as a symbolic protest against European policies.

The estimation on people dying while trying to reach Europe varies greatly. But, a joint research project of European journalists recently found that at least 23,000 people had lost their lives in the past 14 years. The burial of this Syrian woman aimed to send a strong message to European politicians, remembering that these migrants are humans and deserve to be treated like such. The activists associated with the "Center for Political Beauty," have been widely known for their much more provocative strategy. However, their methods have not been agreed by everybody as for instance the Süddeutsche Zeitung ask whether the campaign was "tasteless."
