The campaign “Make Love Not Scars” calls for an end to acid attacks destroying so many lives.

Every year in Inda, more than 1000 acid attacks occur and 90% of the victims are women. These appalling figures are explained by the ease of acces to acid, considered as a household detergent. In India it is possible to buy acid anywhere for 100 rupees a liter which represnets about 1,34 euros.

The petition launched by "Make Love Not Scars" ask the Indian Prime Minister to ban acid detergents and to register strong acids in the poisons list.

The awareness campaign aims to look at survivors of violence as special, unique individuals with stories to tell and talents to showcase.
